The Noyer was custom designed and made(and now the design is available as one of their model tiny homes) for Minimaliste’s clients in California. The couple planned to live in it full time so they decided to go extra wide and made it 10.5 feet wide as opposed to the standard tiny home width of 8.5 feet. Although this reduced its mobility, it absolutely made up for it by allowing for a creative and functional tiny house floor plan.
They honed in on creating a unique architectural exterior by getting creative with the rooflines and blending charcoal colored steel and stained eastern cedar cladding. This created a stark contrast between the two vastly different materials that catch the eye in the most fantastic way.
Inside, you’ll find yourself forgetting you’re in a tiny house. Those extra two feet of width did wonders and allowed the designers to get extra creative with the layout. White walls and warm wood frame a well-balanced aesthetic. The living room is raised up which allows for storage underneath and a clear separation from the kitchen.
The kitchen is minimalistic yet contains all the essentials for daily living. Copper handles draw attention to the deep blue cabinets that have custom toe-kick drawers to provide extra storage. A walnut slab is used for the countertops that add a dramatic complement to the white farmhouse sink. Next to the kitchen is a built-in dining bench and small office desk.
At the back of the house is the bathroom which boasts a 4-foot walk-in shower with tile walls and a glass door, a Separett composting toilet, a washer and dryer combo, and additional storage. Above the bathroom is the master loft bedroom which is large enough to comfortably fit a queen-sized bed and a small built-in closet.
