Orme is a work of art. As Antoine De Saint-Exupery so accurately puts it, “A designer knows he has achieved perfection not when there is nothing left to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.” This is exactly what the designers and builders at Minimaliste(in Canada) have done with this lovely tiny house. Its simplistic design aesthetic mixed with high-end minimal finishes have created a truly beautiful tiny house.
The exterior is clad with the famous Shou Sugi Ban siding; an ancient method used to pre-char the siding so that it becomes more resistant to fire, bugs, and weather. Plus, it looks amazing and gives any home a unique look. Black window frames provide subtle accents to the exteriors design.
Inside, you’ll find a refined space with smooth maple wall cladding, cork flooring, and black accents throughout. In the living room, is a built-in TV nook and a projector screen that comes standard with the house. The kitchen has black cabinets, a rich butcher block countertops, plenty of storage, and a fold-up dining table.
The bathroom is spa-like with its walk-in shower with tiled walls and a glass door. Two storage compartments provide additional storage and space for the washer and dryer combo. The master loft is above the bathroom and is accessible by a staircase that has storage built into it. It has large windows and storage as well. The guest loft is accessible with a ladder that stows beside the refrigerator.
The Orme has stolen our hearts. Its unique floor plan and clean simplistic aesthetic captures the essence of minimalism. At a competitive price point, and shipping available to Canada and the United States, this tiny home is an excellent option for anyone wanting to go tiny.
Functionally, the Orme keeps up with the best of the best. The open yet creative floor plan creates a great flow. It is outfitted with all the essentials and is customizable.
